AnglicareSA lodges plans to redevelop ageing Adelaide village – double the size

1 min read

The Not for Profit wants to demolish the existing 15 one-bedroom units at its Panorama site, 9km south of the CBD, which it has owned since the 1960s, and replace them with 10 two-storey townhouses and a four-storey “supported accommodation” complex with 24 apartments.

Under the plan, up to eight apartments would be purpose-built for people with a disability and one for support staff while the remaining homes would provide affordable housing for Anglicare SA’s over-55 clients with an adjoining property purchased to make room for the project.

“We need to ensure that our homes meet the requirements of existing residents as well as the future demands of our community,” AnglicareSA chief executive Peter Sandeman said.

A common issue facing many providers.
