Australian College of Nursing gifts $1M in scholarships to acknowledges nurses’ pandemic efforts

1 min read

An indication of how cashed up Australia’s leading nursing organisations are.

The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) has gifted members 1,000 scholarships (the equivalent of $1 million) to complete their new course ‘The Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series’ which is designed to advance leadership skills.

ACN CEO Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN (pictured above) said the decision was inspired by a wish to acknowledge the contribution that nurses had made in the coronavirus pandemic.

“2020 has tested nurses, health professionals and our health system in new ways,” she said.

“Nurses all over Australia have been an instrumental part in Australia’s successful handling of the pandemic.”

“Nurse leadership is vital at every point along our health system to ensure information is delivered, teams are engaged, and the right outcomes are achieved. Lives literally depend on it.”
