Brisbane aged care homes will remain locked down until at least Friday after doctor tested positive for COVID-19

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced that aged care homes will remain locked down until at least Friday after a fresh COVID-19 case in Brisbane.

A doctor from the Princess Alexandra Hospital and two returned travellers in hotel quarantine had all tested positive for the virus, prompting the aged care lockdown.

Despite no new local cases being recorded in the following days, Premier Palaszczuk confirmed the lockdown provisions would remain in place as a precaution and until more test results were returned.

None of the newly confirmed cases were in aged care.
