Closed aged care facility in Victoria becomes a family-run NDIS respite facility

1 min read

The former 40-bed DP Jones aged care home in Murchison, a rural village 167km north of Melbourne’s CBD, has been bought and turned into a family-run NDIS respite facility.

Lyn Almond, a full-time carer for her son Willy, and her partner, Jason Lambrecht, saw DP Jones’s building advertised for sale after the aged care operator went bust in January 2020.

Along with Mr Lambrecht’s sister Andrea Mason and brother-in-law David Frizzell, the pair have created Murchison Accommodation Respite Services, to be known as MARS.
