Mercy Health sells off closed Cairns aged care home

The site of Mercy Health’s shuttered Mercy Place residential aged care home in Woree, Cairns, has been put up for sale.

The 43-bed home, which closed down in April last year, is being sold through CBRE Cairns along with 26,000 square metres of adjoining land.

“It’s ideal for low-to-medium density housing and the existing building could be modified for medial or aged care uses or any kind of allied health industry,” CBRE Cairns managing director Danny Betros told the Cairns Post.

The site is currently zoned for community facilities; expressions of interest close on 26 October.
