The 48-year-old woman has been charged with assaulting five residents with dementia at an aged care facility on the NSW South Coast.
Police allege the incidents involved the victims being either struck or sprayed and were reported by other staff members to management in December. The worker was then suspended and the police contacted.
The facility is also conducting its own internal investigation which will allow the suspended staff member a chance to respond to the allegations – an appropriate response.
