RSL LifeCare has chosen Janet Muir, former head of hearing care specialist Audika, as its new CEO.

Janet (above), who was Managing Director of Audika Australia and New Zealand from 2014-2022, has extensive experience in healthcare, with almost 20 years working in the tertiary health sector, including St Vincent’s Health and St John of God Health Care.

Interim Chair Sangeeta Venkatesan (pictured) described Janet as “an experienced and entrepreneurial business leader with a passion for positive change”.

“Our board of directors is thrilled to introduce a leader of Janet’s calibre into our community to guide RSL LifeCare to being an even greater and more successful organisation that enriches the lives of Veterans and Seniors by creating connected, supportive, and vibrant communities,”
she said.

Additionally, Janet is connected to the Defence Forces – her father served in the Navy, her son was a Cadet in high school, and she herself was a member of the Army Reserves.

“Growing up in country Western Australia, Janet’s insights into providing quality care across rural and regional community have been held lifelong.

“Self-described as having ‘humble beginnings’, her families’ influence has instilled Janet with a strong work ethic and the importance of treating people equally,” said Sangeeta.

Janet will take over from Interim CEO Graham Millett as of Monday, 19 September; former RSL LifeCare CEO Laurie Leigh left the provider last year.
