The Not For Profit provider received the prestigious Innovation of the Year – Community Care Model award at the ceremony for its 10K Project, a program designed to build the community networks of each of its 40 rural and metro locations.

Starting in SCC’s Greystanes residential aged care facility (NSW) as a joint initiative between SCC, Groundswell and Western Sydney University, the project aims to connect each home with local resources and networks within a 10-kilometre radius to build partnerships and connections.

SCC has since taken this pilot program and applied it to the care model of Thornton Park, their new aged care home in Penrith (NSW) that opened last month.

SCC CEO Helen Emmerson spoke about the 10K Project at our LEADERS SUMMIT in March in a session about innovation and efficiencies in the aged care sector. Watch it HERE.
