Success story: St. Vincent’s Health Australia and CatholicCare celebrate end of two-year program housing refugees at co-located Melbourne village

1 min read

As we reported here, the joint project originally planned to use 60 empty units at St Vincent’s Care Services Eltham to house around 120 Syrian and Iraqi refugees with settlement support from CatholicCare.

But in the end, only 35 units were used to accommodate 63 people, including a baby born several months ago.

The majority have since moved into the community with around 15 over-55 residents staying in the village.

A great result.
