Sydney aged care home evacuated after fire breaks out in the basement

Fire and Rescue NSW were called to the nursing home on Spit Road in Mosman, 8km northeast of the Sydney CBD, last Wednesday just before 7am after an automatic alarm went off.

All 60 residents of the home were evacuated over concerns the fire would spread.

It is believed the fire started in a plant room in the basement of the building.
