Sydney’s Castle Hill RSL puts forward plans for 500 village units and aged care beds

1 min read

The Club wants to build 329 independent living units, 90 self-care apartments and a 90-bed aged care facility across seven multi-storey buildings at its headquarters, 30km northwest of the Sydney CBD.

They have yet to submit an application, but already received State Authority Planning Authority approval for the development in mid-2017.

Unlike recent aged care developments around Dural, they also have council support.

Cr Robyn Preston told the Daily Tele a battle had been waging against developers proposing seniors’ living developments in rural fringes, but developments closer to public transport and within city centres “ticked boxes”.

Castle Hill is a growing ‘hotspot’ for retirement living. According to our villages.com.au site, over 3,300 people have searched for villages in the area so far this year.
