The Retirement Living Council assembles 80 VIC operators and Dept of Health to develop COVID Safe plan

1 min read

The Retirement Living Council last week organised a second roundtable meeting between the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, and over 80 retirement village operators in Victoria.

The objective was to establish concise guidance for village operators on how best to manage resident health needs and the ever changing landscape of COVID-19 restrictions.

One key requirement flagged by the government officials is the need for all Victorian villages to have in place a COVID Safe plan.

If you, as a village operator, have not yet completed a COVID Safe plan or are having issues in completing this, the RLC has created a template COVID Safe plan which it is making available for all operators.

It is important and detailed – see the clip above.
You can download it here.

The RLC is also providing direct feedback to government on issues unique to retirement villages that need to be addressed.

The recognition of retirement villages as a permitted work site during Phase Four is one.

A good outcome.
