Aura begins construction on seventh retirement village with 50% of apartments already sold

Aura Holdings has commenced construction on its third retirement community to be built on a golf course, The Evelyn at Mt Ommaney in Brisbane, with half of the apartments already secured off the plan.

The $63 million development will deliver 126 residences – 110 apartments and 16 townhouses – designed by Marchese Partners I Life 3A and built by McNab. The project is funded through a partnership between Assembly Funds Management and PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential Financial.

A sod-turning ceremony was held last Thursday at McLeod Country Golf Club, following the village’s official launch at the club in August.

“The Evelyn will set the benchmark for retirement living in Brisbane, delivering modern apartments, strong community connections, and a premier golf club setting, unlike anything else in the Centenary suburbs,” Aura Holdings Chief Executive Officer Sean Graham said.

Aura Holdings, founded by Tim Russell and Mark Taylor, also owns and operates Somerset Indooroopilly and The Ninth Middle Ridge – both developed alongside golf courses.

For McLeod Country Golf Club, the partnership is about securing a sustainable future.

“The Evelyn represents more than a new retirement community – it represents the long-term sustainability of the McLeod Country Golf Club,” Club President Diane Lally said. “This partnership allows us to strengthen our future, maintain a premier course, and continue to serve our members and the wider community.”

When complete, The Evelyn will offer a range of premium amenities, including an outdoor heated pool, gym, wine room, library, billiards room, and outdoor barbeque and entertaining areas.
