Uniting NSW.ACT’s Bowden Brae, which is at 80% occupancy after opening in December last year, is being seen as a blueprint for the Not For Profit’s $3 billion investment plan.
PTW devised a number of shared open spaces that encourage connection and collaboration among residents of the 140 apartments onsite. There are two-bedroom, two-bedroom and a study, and three-bedroom apartments.
“The successful design enables a rich diversity of social interaction, inviting the broader community and family members to use the gym, café, hair and beauty salon, and gardens. Sharing of resources allows people to age in place through mutual caring and support,” Uniting’s NSW and ACT Head of Property Development, Adrian Ciano said.
Over the next 10 years, Uniting NSW.ACT is planning to double its retirement and independent living portfolio from 3,000 units to almost 6,000.
Key to its strategy is continuing to invest in development that integrates retirement living, assisted living, and residential care in one space.
