Benetas opens stage 1 of 131 unit new Mooroolbark (Melb) village

Victorian Not For Profit Benetas has welcomed the first people to register for the new 131-unit St John’s Rise, a retirement village in Mooroolbark, 31km north-east of Melbourne’s CDB, that is scheduled to open next year.

Stage One is 22 homes and has a choice of six designs. Stage Two will be 24 homes.

The initial part of the development with 22 homes is set to be completed early in 2022 with a further 24 to follow. Stage Two will include the construction of the community centre with an indoor pool, gym, cinema, cafe, dining room, hairdresser and consulting suite. The complete development is for 131 homes and extensive communal facilities.

The village is adjacent to a Benetas 20-bed aged care home. The overall site is four hectares of parkland.
