The development will consolidate all Resthaven services along Township Road and Finniss Street into the one campus. The site will include a 150-bed residential aged care homeCommunity Services offices, wellness services and Community Respite Services.

The project is expected to be built over a four-year period in three stages. Stage One is construction of the Resthaven Marion Community Wellness Centre, which will include a large space for group activities, gym, day respite centre, and 12 consulting rooms for services such as GPs, massage, physio, and occupational therapy.

The 1ha site was left to the Resthaven board in 1970 by May Hersey in memory of her husband. An aged are home first opened there in 1975.
