Encore Living begins construction on new Paynesville retirement village

1 min read

Encore Living has started construction on its latest retirement community in Paynesville, Victoria, a lakeside town 293km east of Melbourne’s CBD.

The project has approval for 93 villas across 10 stages, with work now underway on the display homes. Buyers will be able to choose from two- and three-bedroom residences, each designed for self-contained, independent living in a resort-style setting.

“It’s a place where residents will feel like they’re on holiday every day,” said Rosa Sinopoli of Encore Retirement Living.

“We expect many people who once holidayed in Paynesville will return to make it their permanent home. Many locals who love the area have shown a strong interest.”

Community and lifestyle focus

At the centre of the development will be a community hub featuring a spacious lounge, dining and games areas, a salt-chlorinated indoor pool, HUR Gym, and multiple spaces for family gatherings. The village will be pet-friendly and include a 24-hour emergency call system via Lumin Screen and MePACS.

Each home will come with double garages, extra storage, open-plan kitchens, private alfresco areas, and layouts designed to support active and social retirement.

The project, designed by BCN Design & Access and approved by East Gippsland Council in 2020, marks Encore’s fourth operational community. Its previous communities include:

  • Eastwood Retirement Village in Bairnsdale
  • Mountain View Retirement Village in Leongatha
  • Encore Living Retirement Village in Trafalgar (now in its final stages)

Encore has also received planning approval for a 151-villa development in Warragul, in line with the Warragul Precinct Structure Plan.
