Hall & Prior selected to redevelop City of Bayswater (WA) retirement village

The family-owned aged care provider beat out two other interested parties (Lester Group/Amanda Living and Churchlands Holdings) to take over the management and operation of the City of Bayswater’s Mertome Village – 15 minutes outside of Perth’s CBD.

Hall & Prior has pledged to refurbish the site (pictured), which features a 70-bed residential care facility and 102 independent living units.

The village was built in the early 1970s and is considered the first Council-provided aged care service.

Hall & Prior now operates 25 residential aged care homes across WA and NSW.

Breaking news: Government delays new Aged Care Act

Minister for Health and Ageing Mark Butler and Minister for Aged Care and Seniors Sam Rae announced this morning that commencement of the new Aged Care Act on 1 July 2025 will be delayed four months until 1 November 2025.
