Kevin Ryan is back in the village sector with another Waterbrook

Three years after Lendlease purchased the two five-star Waterbrook villages in Sydney built by Kevin Ryan and jointly owned with the Oatley family, Ryan is back with plans for another 95-unit retirement village on the Bayview golf course on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

He retained the Waterbrook brand.

Bayview Golf Club will reconfigure its 18-hole course to build the units across seven buildings three to four storeys high over two hectares.

It will include two- and three-bedroom units plus 180sqm penthouses and a 192-space carpark, library, bar and hair salon.

In 2009, the Club spent $7.2M on a new clubhouse which left the club “in a fragile financial position” according to the Manly Daily.

“The Club has commenced a long-term program for revitalisation, central to which is the development of part of the golf course land for seniors housing,” its website states.

Ryan spent 10 years at the forefront of the Retirement Village Association before dropping out of the sector. It is understood he is being funded out of Singapore.
