Retirement living preferred partner for Caloundra RSL in Qld’s Sunshine Coast

1 min read

Clubs are continuing to seek compatible partners to boost income to stay in business long term. Watermark Freshwater was the first at Mounties' Harbord Diggers in Freshwater in Sydney's Northern Beaches, and remains the benchmark.

Caloundra RSL is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced developers for a joint-venture redevelopment of about 11,000sqm of the club’s landholdings, with the club premises and carparking occupying the balance of the site.

Urbanite Property Advisory is handling the campaign and said the site is within a Major Centre Zone with several consistent uses, including permanent and short-term accommodation, retirement living and commercial uses. Preliminary investigations are already being undertaken.

"Preliminary investigations unveiled a preference towards seniors living due to synergies and future income generation for the club, with the club’s main objective being to find a collaborative partner that they can work with now and into the future," said the corporate and clubs property advisory.

Currently, 42% of the population in Caloundra alone are over the age of 50 years, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
