Richard Blair takes over abandoned Cootamundra village

In July 2014 village developer Geoff Hart emailed the 25 residents of his Wattle Grove retirement village in Cootamundra that his company Baragen was ceasing to trade despite the fact the village is only half built. In effect the strata owners were abandoned.

It has taken 18 months for the receivers to find a new owner in the form of Richard Blair from Sydney will complete the construction of 34 units. He has two strata villages, in Dural and Penrith.

Over the 18 months the residents took on the overall management of the village.

RetireAustralia acquired by Invesco Real Estate for $845M

The global real estate investment management business, which has over US$80 billion in real estate assets under management, has forked out $845 million for the Brisbane-based retirement village operator.
