The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is for the second time been brought into a bid by a new land lease business Viva Lifestyle Communities to build its first VivaLife community at Kyneton in the Macedon Ranges, 87km northwest of Melbourne’s CBD.
The proposal is to build a community of 183 homes, which would include a community centre, recreation facilities and a Men’s Shed, on 12h of land.
Macedon Ranges Shire Council rejected the proposal at a meeting on 22 March, after the VIC-based operator’s appeal to VCAT when Council failed to make a decision on the application within the 60 statutory day timeframe.
VCAT scheduled a compulsory conference over the matter on March 29.
