Ex-Fresh Hope Communities CEO Dan Dwyer joins Anglicare Sydney in an interim role

1 min read

The inaugural CEO of Not For Profit Fresh Hope Communities, who resigned in March, has accepted a role as Interim Group Executive – Residential Care with Anglicare Sydney.

Anglicare Sydney CEO Simon Miller took Dan to visit Donington Court, Brian King Gardens and Warrina residential aged care homes at the operator's Castle Hill site in Sydney's northwest. The Weekly SOURCE reported in April that the Not For Profit has lodged a State Significant Development Application for the 43ha site.

"Dan brings a wealth of experience in aged care, retirement living, community housing and more, most recently as CEO of Fresh Hope Communities. His leadership in integrating diverse services under a unified vision, along with his deep knowledge of the sector, will be invaluable as we prepare for the new Aged Care Act," said Not For Profit Anglicare Sydney on its LinkedIn page.

Dan fills the role left by Anglicare Sydney's Chief Executive Residential Care, Maryann Curry, who has departed the organisation after three-and-a-half years.

"We achieved full compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, refreshed our Rhythm of Life model for person-centred care, and delivered significant financial improvements — all while successfully implementing aged care sector reforms. Anglicare is well positioned for its journey under the new Aged Care Act, and I wish my team and Anglicare continued success," Maryann said on LinkedIn.

"I am deeply grateful to my leadership team and the 23 residential managers who worked alongside me to achieve this transformation. These experiences have not only enriched my professional life but also strengthened my belief in the power of vision-driven and compassionate leadership".

Anglicare Sydney will now search for a new permanent Group Executive for Residential Care.
