UnitingCare QLD Interim CEO returns to former role

After six months as Interim CEO of the Not For Profit, Cathy Thomas has handed over the role to the new CEO Ben Edwards.

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead such an extraordinary organisation committed to care, compassion, and social impact,” Cathy said on LinkedIn, in a post shared by UnitingCare Queensland

“This period has been one of collaboration, learning, and shared purpose. Together, we’ve focused on strengthening culture, driving quality outcomes, and ensuring financial sustainability – all while keeping people at the heart of everything we do.”

Cathy, who has returned to her role as Group Executive BlueCare, thanked Maria McLaughlin-Rolfe who has overseen BlueCare as Acting Group Executive for the past six months.

“To the incredible teams across UnitingCare Queensland – thank you for your dedication and all round brilliance! It has been a privilege to work alongside you in delivering care that truly makes a difference in the lives of individuals and communities,” Cathy added.
