Whiddon chooses Telstra Health
The Not For Profit retirement village and aged care operator has selected Telstra Health to supply residential aged care software to its network of 23 aged care homes.
This partnership comes as the new Aged Care Act demands higher compliance requirements, more frequent assessments, and expanded documentation.
Whiddon homes, located in regional, rural and remote communities, will roll out Telstra Health's Clinical Manager product, with Message Manager and CareKeeper additions.
Telstra Health reports the regulatory pressure on residential aged care services since the introduction of the new Aged Care Act is being compounded by workforce shortages and increased care complexity.
Digital systems centralise information, reduce duplicate work, and ensure records are suitable for regulatory audits.

Whiddon Chief Operating Officer, Alyson Jarrett, said "We identified the need to modernise our systems to enhance data accessibility and integration, while meeting evolving care and compliance requirements.
"This is about strengthening our care model and ensuring our people have the tools they need to continue delivering meaningful, relationship-based care."
Telstra Health's Clinical Manager product, for residential aged care, supports assessments, care planning, and compliance tasks. Message Manager is a communications tool for sharing updates with residents' families and carers, while CareKeeper is a mobile app for care staff, allowing staff to view tasks and record care activity in real time.
Operational drivers behind the selection to partner with Telstra Health include data accessibility and site integration. Telstra Health's Sales, Marketing and Communications Executive, Stephen Tuffley, said, "Every efficiency gained means more time for residents." For providers like Whiddon, Stephen said, they need "robust digital infrastructure".
Whiddon, which describes itself as 'digitally mature', says it will continue investing in secure, modern systems while it focusses on delivering relationship-based aged care across its homes as operational and compliance expectations continue rising.
Telstra Health’s MedPoint product has received repeated exemptions from the Government to meet electronic prescribing requirements, most recently to 1 April 2026, to avoid aged care operators being forced to revert to paper scripts.
