Respect Aged Care spreads home care wings further in Tasmania

1 min read

Respect Aged Care, which has 25 aged care homes and 12 retirement villages in Tasmania, NSW, and Victoria, is expanding its home care service operations in north west Tasmania.

"A significant milestone for our Not For Profit organisation, this expansion means our team of dedicated care managers and home care assistants is looking forward to bringing Respect’s great legacy of person-centred care to even more seniors in need across several more local communities," the Tasmanian-based provider said in a statement.

"We already have home care in the north (Launceston) and south (Hobart) of Tasmania, so it's an extension of that to the north west," Respect Aged Care CEO Jason Binder (main picture) told The Weekly SOURCE.

"Recruiting for home care and residential aged care care staff has been a "continual challenge in some communities but not others.

"Recruiting for RNs (Registered Nurses) is an "ongoing challenge in just about all of our communities", he said.

Respect Aged Care is known as a specialist in turning around the operations of aged care homes struggling with financial sustainability. Respect Aged Care introduces its own specialised teams and systems to create a new culture, increase efficiencies, and improve the standard of care.

The strategy has seen the occupancy in its mature residential aged care homes be around 95% on average.
