Respect buys its 23rd and 24th aged care homes

1 min read

The Tasmanian-based Not For Profit has taken over the ownership and management of two Royal Freemasons aged care homes in Moe, a town 130km east of Melbourne's CBD, and Sale, the city 212km east of Melbourne's CBD.

Jason Binder, Respect’s Managing Director and CEO, said the decision would secure both homes’ long-term futures after Royal Freemasons announced in October 2022 that it wanted to rescale its operations and sell all of its aged care and retirement living assets bar the 192-bed Coppin Centre in Melbourne.

The two homes will be the 23rd and 24th aged care homes to join Respect, which has grown significantly in the past decade.

Respect also officially took over Costa House in Lara, a town 18km northeast of Geelong's CBD, this week after months of positive collaboration with staff from the 120-bed home as well as the local community.

“Whether it’s across our aged care homes, retirement living villages, or in the support we provide older Australians through home care, we pride ourselves on our connections – the relationships we foster between staff, residents and clients, and the engagement we build with the wider community,” Jason said.

Royal Freemasons has also sold its aged care homes and retirement villages to Aveo Group, Estia Health and mecwacare
