RetireAustralia scoops up four of Retirement Living Council’s awards
- Big winner: RetireAustralia claimed four national awards
- Multiple winners: Aveo, Levande and LDK each secured two awards
- People's choice: BlueCare's Argyle Gardens topped resident voting
- Sector showcase: Innovation, redevelopment and sustainability recognised
The Invesco Real Estate-owned retirement village operator was the big winner in the Retirement Living Council Awards in Brisbane last Tuesday (16 June).
RetireAustralia, which owns and operates 30 retirement villages in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and ACT, won the following awards:
- Innovation in Retirement Living – O'Neill Architecture-designed The Verge at Burleigh, Care Hub;
- Best Community Development – The Green Tarragindi;
- Future Leader of the Year (Corporate Leadership) – Tom Sullivan, Project Manager (Construction); and
- Sustainability in Retirement Living – The Verge at Burleigh.
“These achievements reflect the strength of our people and the care, innovation and leadership they bring to our communities every day. Across our villages, we remain focused on creating places where residents feel supported, connected and truly at home,” the retirement village operator said on LinkedIn.
Several retirement village operators also took home two awards.
Aveo won for:

- Salesperson of the Year – Ivonne Evans, Aveo Lindfield Gardens, 13km northeast of Sydney’s CBD; and
- Best Revitalisation Award – $10.5 million refurbishment of Aveo Fountain Court Community Centre in Burwood, 14km east of Melbourne's CBD.
Levande won for:

- Marketing Excellence – Everyday Exceptional brand refresh campaign by 303 MullenLowe; and
- Best Redevelopment – Levande’s Pine Lake redevelopment on the Gold Coast.

LDK Seniors’ Living won for:
- Village Manager of the Year – Greenway Views Tuggeranong, ACT, General Manager Michelle Bennett; and
- Best Redevelopment for a Small Provider – Greenway Views by LDK Seniors’ Living.
“These awards reflect the passion and commitment of our people, and the trust our residents place in us every day. Greenway Views demonstrates what is possible when you bring together care, lifestyle and community in a truly integrated way,” CEO Byron Cannon said.
“We remain focused on redefining the ageing experience across all our villages, creating communities where people can live with dignity, connection and confidence, now and into the future.”

People’s Choice Award for the Best Retirement Village, which had 4,475 votes this year – up 93% since 2023 – went to BlueCare’s Argyle Gardens Retirement Village in Bundaberg, Queensland.
Argyle Gardens is home to nearly 500 residents, and the award follows recent revitalisation works across the village to improve shared spaces and the day-to-day living experience.
Marketing Excellence Award for Small Operators (less than 1,000 ILUs) went to Anglicare’s Discover a New You Campaign by Frost Collective.
“It started with an insight worth building on,” said Frost Collective. “When people move into community living, their world doesn’t shrink. It expands. From that came a campaign that rejected the tired tropes of retirement marketing and put something more honest in their place. The community embraced it. The industry recognised it. And the platform has since been adopted across the wider Anglicare portfolio. Later life isn’t a chapter to close. It’s one to discover.”

Best Community Development for a Small Operator went to Ozcare's Rendu Towers in Newstead, Brisbane, a fully integrated vertical village that brings togther independent living, aged care and services.
Best Community Development (land lease) was taken out by Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters by VIA Architects.
