The Victoria Government is committing $57 million in its 2021/2022 Budget to replace an aged care home at Rutherglen in north-eastern Victoria that was built in the 1930s.

The 40-bed Glenview Residential Aged Care is managed by Indigo North Health, which provides residential aged care, retirement village living and a range of community health services.

Northern Victoria 1MP Jaclyn Symes broke the news that the aged care home will be replaced by a purpose built, 50-bed aged care facility.

"We've been working for a number of years in trying to get a facility that meets the current standards and the expectations of the community," said Indigo CEO and Director of Nursing Shane Kirk.

The Victoria Government’s 2021/2022 Budget is delivered today (Thursday, May 20).
