$65 Million Village Bound for Bathurst

‘Bathurst Retirement Village Plan Unveiled,’ ABC Central West News, July 30, 3008.

A Central coast-based company has this week unveiled plans for a $65 million retirement village near Bathurst. The village, to be built at Eglinton, will have 215 houses and take approximately seven years to construct. Geoff Cox of Crighton Developments says his group is planning a similar facility – worth about $62 million – at Mudgee.

“A number of people from country areas keep coming to the coast,” he says. “They’re somewhat put off by the high prices on the coast at the moment, but most of them tell us they’d love to stay where their family and friends are, but there are no facilities such as the facilities they find on the coast in the modern low density retirement villages there.”
