Padman Healthcare, SA’s largest private aged care operator, has invested nearly $400,000 on a 99 kW solar system at each of its Flagstaff Hill Centre and Lockley Centre, with the expectation of $120,000 savings in energy costs in the first year. They state they currently have electricity bills of $10,000-$14,000 per month, per centre. Padman is a family business with 12 centres in SA and two in QLD.
