KPMG's eighth annual review of the Australian aged care market reflects the ongoing consolidation across the residential sector.
In FY24, the top 25 residential aged care providers accounted for 44.7% of total operational places, up from 44.0% in FY23.
Opal HealthCare remained Australia's largest residential aged care operator with an 11.4% increase in operational places on the back of the acquisition of seven aged care homes and the opening of two new homes, totalling 712 operational places.
Respect Care was the only new entrant into the top 25 for FY24 after the group acquired five homes and an additional 463 operational places.
Whiddon Group fell out of the top 25, from 24th to 26th in FY24.
