Aged Care Workforce Council to drive social change campaign to change perception of aged care with ACSA

1 min read

The Aged Care Workforce Industry Council (ACWIC) has announced it will partner with ACSA who have agreed to lead the creation of a social change campaign project plan which focuses on shifting negative perceptions of aged care – the first strategic action outlined in the 2018 aged care workforce strategy, ‘A Matter of Care’.

The plan will be implemented over the next three years.

The Royal Commission has previously highlighted the importance of respect for aged care workers.

A New Zealand academic attributed the failure of its historic 2017 pay rises to attract more staff to the lack of a media campaign to drive the value of aged care work.

As part of its research, the Council wants aged care providers to share any of their previous, current or planned relevant workforce research and/or campaigns.
