Sydney based private equity firm Quadrant is cashed up after selling 14% of NZs Summerset retirement village group for $89M (while keeping another 23% of its shares in Summerset). Now it is finalising to buy into Australian aged care with the purchase of Estia Health, which has 10 facilities across Melbourne, for a rumoured $175M. Estia itself was just established seven years ago. This is the third private equity group to buy into aged care this year.
