Lendlease and QuadReal’s first Build to Rent in Australia 100% powered by renewable energy

Cottee Parker Architects is designing Lendlease’s 442 units of studio, one-, two- and three-bedrooms over 37 levels on Brisbane Showgrounds in Queensland’s capital city.

The $300 million Build to Rent project, the first BTR in Australia by Lendlease and in partnership with QuadReal Property Group, will be fully electric with no gas, enabling it to be 100% powered by renewable electricity, and will target a 5 Star Green Star Buildings Version 1 rating, said Cottee Parker Architects Director Sandra Browne.

Treasurer Dr Jim Chalmers and Lendlease Australia CEO Dale Connor broke the ground on the site last month.

It is being built by Hutchinson Builders and is scheduled to be completed and occupied by late 2025.

Breaking news: Government delays new Aged Care Act

Minister for Health and Ageing Mark Butler and Minister for Aged Care and Seniors Sam Rae announced this morning that commencement of the new Aged Care Act on 1 July 2025 will be delayed four months until 1 November 2025.
