Lincoln Place proposes 325-home land lease community for QLD’s Mackay region

1 min read

Rapidly expanding Lincoln Place has submitted a development application to Mackay Regional Council for a 325-home over-50s land lease community on a 16.5ha site at Greenmount, about 21km south-west of Mackay’s CBD.

The gated project would be delivered in five stages and include a clubhouse precinct and sports pavilion with a pickleball court and covered bowling green, an outdoor pool, community garden, landscaped areas, and caravan/boat storage.

Homes are planned in five designs ranging from 220-280m², each with single or double parking plus one visitor space.

With the site fronting the Peak Downs Highway for roughly 300m, an acoustic barrier of 2.25m is recommended along the boundary, alongside acoustic treatments for at least seven dwellings.

A town planning report lodged with the 10 October application notes Council will need to assess capacity in the existing sewerage network, with on-site storage proposed as a contingency.

Backed by the New York-based private equity giant Cerberus Capital Management, Lincoln Place operates 24 lifestyle communities across NSW, Victoria, Queensland and the ACT, housing about 2,000 residents and carrying a pipeline of around 4,500 dwellings.
