New BaptistCare aged care facility set to open in southwest Sydney

1 min read

Recently merged Not For Profit BaptistCare is preparing to open its latest home, the 96-bed Glendale Lodge, in Elderslie, 60km southwest of the centre of Sydney, as part of a $60 million redevelopment of the site.

The home is designed around the small household model of care, with each household accommodating 16 residents. The home also features a cafe, gym, hair salon, family rooms, chapel, and community playground.

The builders for the project were Grindley Constructions while the architects were Calderflower Architecture and Interiors.

The adjacent Angus Bristow retirement village is also being extended, with 36 new two- and three-bedroom units being added to the established village. Early stages of the project received strong sales interest.

The Elderslie site also contains an administration office for the group's home care team, and a day respite centre for those caring for loved ones at home.

BaptistCare completed the merger of Baptcare (VIC, SA, TAS), Baptist Care SA and BaptistCare (NSW, ACT, WA) in March 2025. The combined group now has 50 aged care homes, 34 retirement villages, and 15,000 home care customers across Australia.
