Unnamed aged care operator buys vacant seniors living facility in Melbourne

1 min read

The home, formerly called Maryville Hostel and operated by Good Shepherd Aged Care Services, was put to market by vendor Not For Profit Mercy Health.

Marcello Caspani-Muto, Associate Director, CBRE Australian Healthcare & Social Infrastructure.

The 1.04ha site, located at Boronia, 30km east of Melbourne's CBD, includes residential accommodation, the aged care home, and surplus land for expansion or development. It has three street frontages.

The sale was contracted by CBRE's Australian Healthcare & Social Infrastructure division. It is CBRE's third sale for Mercy Health in two years after they sold vacant aged care homes in Springvale, 22km southeast of Melbourne's CBD, and Woree, a suburb of Cairns, 1,695km north-northwest of Brisbane.

"This was the first vacant aged care home sold this year, though we expect to launch a second in late May," Marcello Caspani-Muto, Associate Director CBRE Australian Healthcare & Social Infrastructure, told The SOURCE.

"Other interested groups were developers and adjoining commercial owners, along with other aged care groups."

Mercy Health operates 30 aged care homes across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
