Aged care staff land $1.9 million Lotto windfall

The 51 workers at Park Lane Residential Aged Care in Melbournes Croydon North will each take home over $37,000 after the division one win in last weeks Tattslotto draw.

The syndicate, made up of cooks, cleaners and managers, each kicked in $2 towards the winning ticket, with one of the group saying the jackpot meant everything to everybody.

The feeling around the place is so fantastic and everybody is saying the same thing, Im glad its not millions, Im glad its just something thatll make a real difference to a lot of really great people, she said.

Park Lane is a single facility owned by Norsan Pty Ltd.

A total of 11 winners shared in the $21 million superdraw.

Rising political star Sam Rae appointed Minister for Aged Care as Anika Wells takes on a new portfolio

Sam Rae, who was elected the member for Hawke in 2022, has been appointed the Minister for Aged Care, while Mark Butler retains the Health and Aged Care ministry Anika Wells moved to the Communications portfolio while retaining Sport.
