BaptistCare at home opens third home care hub in WA

BaptistCare at home has opened a new hub for home care clients and staff in central Busselton, about 220km south of Perth.

BaptistCare at home now has three hubs in Western Australia (Albany, Belmont and now Busselton) and 15 in New South Wales and the ACT, Sarah Newman, General Manager BaptistCare at home (pictured above, fifth from left) told The SOURCE.

"Prior to opening the office, our Busselton team had been based at the local Residential Care Home, but with the growth we have been seeing, it was time to open an office in town," Sarah said.

"Office rental costs are always a consideration, but the growing team needed a home, and both clients and frontline staff like to have the opportunity to drop by and speak with someone or for meetings.

"Many of our Home Care hubs run social clubs to bring BaptistCare Home Care clients together for a range of fun activities that add that extra social element to the care we provide in their own home."

In Western Australia, BaptistCare has been delivering aged care services in the South West for more than 25 years, including residential aged care services in Margaret River, Busselton and Manjimup, and co-located Retirement Villages in Margaret River and Busselton.

Sarah acknowledges the "challenges" of accessing high quality services in these areas and BaptistCare is not only growing its dispersed teams providing face-to-face services, it is also offering telehealth services for activities such as advice on assistive equipment, physiotherapy and to support for people with chronic illness.

BaptistCare NSW & ACT completed its merger with BaptistCare WA in July 2023.
