Home care providers using discontinued Telstra Health Community Connect software should be seeking replacement software now – more to follow

1 min read

Telstra’s shock announcement last year that it will exit home care has left a gap in the market – and providers scrambling to find replacement systems.

Telstra Health will withdraw its Community Connect product from the market on 30 September 2023, and its Home Care Manager, ComCare and The Care Manager (TCM) products from 31 March 2024.

These products won’t comply with the new Support at Home program leaving providers with no choice but to put new systems in place. Fortunately, the start date for the new program has been pushed forward 12 months to 1 July 2025.

Greg O’Loan, ANZ Regional Vice President with aged care software supplier Epicor, told The SOURCE that Community Connect users in particular have been left “scrambling”, and will need to find a replacement quickly.

His advice to home care providers using the Telstra systems: start looking now.

“Do your due diligence and, looking at either Epicor or other home care solution providers to meet your needs, start that action now because you’ve got to look for approvals and budgets within your organisation to fund the change of the software and exit cleanly from your Telstra relationship.”

The SOURCE: New software implementation does not happen overnight. Operators seeking a replacement should and swiftly join the queue for software updates.
