Hospital in the Home: what will it mean for the future of home care? 2025 LEADERS SUMMIT videos available online

1 min read

Home care is becoming increasingly clinical, driven by a shortage of residential aged care beds and rising frailty among older Australians receiving support.

At the 2025 LEADERS SUMMIT, Emma Cornwell, Executive GM - Health Service with Australian Unity, and Bev Smith, Chief Commercial Officer with Amplar Health, discussed the role of hospital in the home in delivering clinical care in the community.

"Our purpose is to accelerate the transition of health care away from the traditional models that are not serving us now, and certainly won't serve us in the future, towards clinical services that are delivered closer to a person's home, whether that be in their family home, whether that be in their retirement living unit, whether it be in residential aged care. We're able to support clinical delivery across that continuum," said Bev.

The 2025 LEADERS SUMMIT program was curated to inform attendees about the significant challenges and opportunities the retirement living and aged care sectors are facing.
