Respected international accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has issued a report on forecast costs of an aged care bed looking forward to 2020. On average they calculate it will cost $170,000 per bed to build the infrastructure for one bed. This compares to the government estimate of $105,000, or 38% less. The report was commissioned by the Aged Care Industry Council.
