Irony: ABC and Fairfax properties candidates for aged care homes

While the ABC and Fairfax have been scrutinising the aged care and retirement village sector is, their own business models have been equally under challenge.

The ABCs historic Melbourne studios at Elsterwick where countdown was filmed has been placed up for sale with expectations around $40M. The agent, Savill Australia, points to aged care as likely buyers.

Fairfax has put two blocks of land on the market, it’s printing plant in Ormiston sitting on 5.2 ha of land, 25 km from Brisbane, and its Beresfield (NSW) printery.

The Ormiston site is a prime candidate for a retirement village.
