Former NSW aged care worker Garry Steven Davis, 29, has been sentenced to a maximum of 40 years for murdering two Newcastle residents and attempting to murder a third.

Davis, 29, injected the residents with large doses of insulin over two days in October 2013.

As a result, residents Gwen Fowler, 83, and Ryan Kelly, 80, died. Audrey Manuel, 91, recovered but has since died from unrelated causes.
He will be eligible for parole in 2044 at age 59.
