NSW Health warns residents from Melbourne coronavirus ‘hotspots’ not to visit aged care homes

A warning from an unlikely (or likely) source.

NSW Health authorities have urged anyone who returns from Melbourne hotspots, including NSW residents, to not attend aged care facilities, hospitals, or other settings with vulnerable people, and avoid gatherings outside of their home for 14 days.

The ‘hotpots’ include the suburbs of Keilor Downs, Broadmeadows, Maidstone, Albanvale, Sunshine West, Hallam, Brunswick West, Fawkner, Reservoir and Pakenham.

Victoria’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has also issued a reminder that testing is recommended for any aged care worker who has shown clinical symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

Victoria has now recorded 10 consecutive days of double-digit growth in its case numbers, with 30 new 30 new cases reported yesterday and 1,947 cases reported in total – 183 of which are active.
