The developers are now reviewing their options to build at the Longyard Golf Course after spending two years and hundreds of thousands of dollars on reports commissioned by the council to address its requirements.

The course’s owners John and Belinda O’Rourke say they are shocked and dismayed by the decision which would have ensured the course’s ongoing survival.

The development guaranteed an attached 7.5% profit share to the course in perpetuity – unlike other surrounding housing estates that contribute to course upkeep – plus guaranteed storm water capture to the course and extra members onsite to support the club and other operations.
