NSW: Uniting opens $20M midrise Gerringong aged care redevelopment – offering household model

The newly opened Uniting development in Gerringong.

Nestled in one of NSW’s most charming villages, Uniting has successfully built a 100-bed, four-storey home within their Mayflower retirement village, south of Wollongong and will offer the household model of care including options such as choice of meal times and doing their own cooking and laundry.

The Not For Profit also plans to build a new 20-place home at its 25-bed Boronia Lodge dementia service, which is also on site.

Breaking news: Government delays new Aged Care Act

Minister for Health and Ageing Mark Butler and Minister for Aged Care and Seniors Sam Rae announced this morning that commencement of the new Aged Care Act on 1 July 2025 will be delayed four months until 1 November 2025.
