Springfield, a master planned satellite city between Brisbane and Ipswich has taken the first steps towards establishing its own retirement village and aged care facility. 1.2 hectares of land have been earmarked for an aged care facility opposite the main health-care facility and future hospital site. An additional eight hectare parcel of land is being considered as a possible site for a retirement village.
66 recipients of Aged Care Capital Assistance Program grants announced
The Australia Government has announced 66 recipients of its Aged Care Capital Assistance Program with grants worth $300 million. The largest - a grant of more than $50 million - has gone to Southern Cross Care (QLD) to build a new 94-bed residential care home in Broken Hill, NSW.
