Law firm Russell Kennedy expands team with retirement living and aged care specialists

Catherine Bray, as Principal, and Nicola Arvidson. as Special Counsel, have joined the legal firm as part of a strategic expansion of its property practice.

“Not only do Catherine and Nicola, complement our property offering but they bring experience in key sectors of focus, Aged Care & Retirement Living and Education in our Sydney office,” said Russell Kennedy’s Managing Director, Paul Gleeson.

Catherine is a property, infrastructure and development lawyer with extensive experience in all aspects of complex commercial, industrial and residential property transactions, as well as advising on land acquisition and development for infrastructure and other major projects. During her career, Catherine has worked both in private practice and in-house for listed corporations including at Microsoft (on secondment), Woolworths Ltd, McDonalds Australia Ltd, Australand Holdings Ltd (now Frasers Property Ltd) and Allco Finance Group/Record Realty.

Nicola brings over 20 years of experience providing legal advice to incorporated and unincorporated associations, corporations, church property trusts, and religious groups involved in sectors like aged care, retirement villages, education, social services, and affordable housing. Her areas of focus include statutory and accreditation compliance, corporate governance, legal risk management, and commercial matters. Nicola has acted for faith-based organisations throughout her career including as General Counsel and Head of Compliance, Legal, and Risk at the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

Russell Kennedy says it remains committed to its growth agenda, including expanding capacity and capability in core industries such as property and development, infrastructure, education, health, aged care, insurance, renewables and resource recovery.
